The Bristol Handmade Bike show March 2012

Posted on

Last weekend was the Bristol Bespoke bike show. The show was a great success for all the exhibitors, very hard work getting everything together for the event, but it all came together well at the show. As you no doubt know by now we won the Best Utility Bike prize. The bike above is Jane's bike and made just for her, not really intending for it to go into production but after all the favourable comments and reviews we might just have to. The lugs were designed by Jane, inspired by Art Deco and the 1950's head badge deco look/style, they were cut by hand and took quite some time to get right but we feel they look the part. Note the new head badge a replica of the 1950's transfer (pre-production sample, should be getting them in later). The paint is a custom mixed colour to Jane's choice and mixed in house, (Jane calls it duck egg blue) with White Pearl head tube and dropouts, silver Gothic transfers and silver lug lining. The bike has a Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub. Hub brakes front and rear. Leopard wood Mudguards were supplied by Codi at Woody's fenders in America which complement the Brooks saddle and grip's a treat.
More Handmade bike show update's to come including new Merino wool Mercian Jersey's ,Bonk Bags and other bikes and frames we had on display.
