Sorry for the delay with this blog update but I have just been a bit on the busy side anyway hopefully we are now back to normal . Below is a letter I recieved today which along with the picture I thought you would like .

As a Derby lad, I've wanted a Mercian since I was a kid (riding everywhere my old Carlton), but they were way out of my price range. I finally bought this one (30 years later!) at the end of last year and have built it up since then. It's an 84 model and the paintwork is beginning to show its age, but it's still great to ride – I was planning to bring it back to you for a refurb, but I'm afraid the recession has delayed that – one day, it will return....

I was out for a ride this morning and couldn't resist taking a picture of it next to this sign
