Preparation

FIRST LOOK

When we receive your frame we will first have a conversation regarding any repairs required and any modifications you desire. Once this has been agreed you will be passed onto the Paint Shop where we will discuss your desired paint scheme and decal options.

After this a quote for the required work will be given and a disclaimer signed.

WORK BEGINS

Before work is started one of the Paint Shop team measures the location of each decal and fills out a form template so we can reference the exact decal locations later on.

After the template is filled, if there is any metalwork required we hand the frame back to the Workshop so that work can be completed.

After the work is finished and checked, the frame is handed back the the Paint Shop for the next stage of preparation.

BURNING OFF AND BLASTING

For all steel frames we burn them off outside on an open hearth to remove contaminants such like grease. Also the burnt paint requires less shot blasting to remove, we like to blast our frames as little as possible to reduce damage.

When shot blasting we aim for two things:

1) The removal of all old paint

2) The removal of all rust

Once we are happy that these two objectives are met, we stop blasting and move onto the next step.
